Pandemia nie obeszła się łaskawie z wieloma obszarami naszego codziennego życia, nie oszczędziła również kultury. Teatr, który jest prawdopodobnie najbardziej wspólnotową formą uczestnictwa w kulturze, ucierpiał szczególnie. Odczuli to widzowie pozbawieni możliwości udziału w spektaklach na żywo. Odczuli to również pracownicy teatrów. Większość działań została zawieszona – dotknęło to w sposób szczególny zespoły aktorskie i pracowników obsługi sceny, ale też pracownie techniczne.

The pandemic made many aspects of our everyday lives difficult, including the culture. Theatre, which is probably the most communal form of partici-pating in culture, took a particularly strong hit. The participants, who were stripped of the ability to take part in live plays, could feel it. The theatres’ workers as well. Most of the events were put on pause – this was especially hard for the actors and the stage management employees, but also by the technical teams. Some of the previous event-forms on the other hand, had to be redefined and intensified, and the weight of this work lied on the shoulders of meritorious and administrative sectors, who had to come up with new scenarios – often times survival strategies – for the theatres under the circumstances of the pandemic.
